Fishing Styles

At Pier 5 Fishing Charters our crew and boats are recognized as some of the finest in the world. Here in South Florida there are many types of fishing adventures and they are all just a few miles offshore. You should try trolling offshore in the deep blue gulf stream waters for Billfish, Tuna, Wahoo, or Mahi Mahi, or trying your luck at kite fishing, a South Florida tournament specialty, for Sailfish, King Mackerel of other Big Game fish. A frisky live bait dangling from a suspended kite can land you the catch of a lifetime. The many natural and artificial reefs here are some of the best homes for real fighters like Amberjack, Grouper Snapper, and Cobia. This is where bottom fishing comes into play.

When the sun goes down, it is time to break out the big tackle. South Florida is home to some of the best Swordfish action found anywhere. These fish can run into the hundreds of pounds and test any angler’s skills.
Hammerhead, Tiger, and Bull Sharks are a few of the many species that common a few miles out. Day and night fisherman can do battle with these toothy man eaters.

If it is light tackle action you want, than Bonefish, Tarpon, Snook and Permit can be caught on the pristine flats and mangrove shorelines within sight of the downtown Miami. It is here where many local and world records have been set.

The fishing variety in South Florida is tremendous and no two days on the water are ever the same.
